Finally washed the Civic now that the engine swap is all done. Black is so nice when it’s clean.

My friend has a 1999 Civic and it is such a total shitbox (no fault of the car she just doesn’t take care of it) but damn is it fun to drive.

I replaced my broken D16Y7 and 5-speed with a working D16Y7 and 5-speed. The old engine had next to no compression, and the trans was completely shot. I got this engine for the price of a $375 parts car which I am parting out to make my money back.
The swap was actually more interesting than it sounds because my car is a ‘98 canadian market Civic and the donor car is a 97 USDM Civic, and there were a few differences between the two I had to work around.
I wish I had the money for a B series or K series swap, though. I miss torque.

Another D16Y7. It was only $375 for an entire parts car with a good engine and trans and all the parts I could want (including brand new tires). I’m currently trying to part it out to make my money back and then some.
